The River Falls Fire Department will be having a scheduled training burn on Monday June 27, weather permitting.

RFFD will be burning down an old farm house located at N98297 900th St.

Fire fighters will be practicing different techniques for putting out fires first from the inside, then from the outside of the house.

"It's our chance to test some things out in as controlled an environment and we can have," said Fire Chief Scott Nelson.

The main goal of training is to give new fire fighters the best training experience possible.

"The most important thing is it's realistic training," said Nelson, "rather than talking about it in a classroom or whatever. This is the real McCoy."

The house being burned is an old house donated by Greg Snow, N98279 900th St.

Nelson said there will be one engine and one crew standing by in case of a real fire emergency.
