Pierce County: Hove still leading Parks; Pittman moves ahead

At 10 p.m. with 21 of 28 voting units reporting, Pierce County incumbent Sheriff Nancy Hove is leading challenger Bill Parks.

At this point, Democrat Hove, running for a third term, has 5,500 votes to 3,236 for Republican Parks, a 20-year military veteran.

None of the city of River Falls wards has reported yet.

In other races that involve Pierce County:

--Districtwide, with 32% of units reporting, incumbent Democrat Ron Kind (34,572) is leading challenger Republican Tony Kurtz (27,838) for the state’s Third District seat in the U.S. Congress.

--Districtwide, with 44% of units reporting, Republican challenger Mel Pittman (14,069) is leading incumbent Democratic State Senator Kathleen Vinehout (13,679) in the 31st District.

--In the Assembly District 93, Republican incumbent Warren Petryk (8,507) leads Democratic challenger Jeff Smith (6,635) with 50% of units reporting.
