UWRF breaks ground on $63.5 million Falcon Center

UW-River Falls mascot Freddy Falcon joins Chancellor Dean Van Galen (right) and his wife Mary Van Galen to help celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Falcon Center Friday, May 2.

UW-River Falls representatives and employees gathered with donors and local and area government representatives for a moment that has been 20 years in the making.

They gathered Friday, May 2, to break ground on the new $63.5 million sports facility that is the largest building project UWRF history.

The first phase of construction starts this summer with site improvments. Construction is planned to be fully completed by 2017.
