Bid comes in for River Falls Academy
The one and only bid received for the River Falls School District’s Academy building calls for converting the older portions into low-income rental housing.
The school board will hear a proposal from the bidding Wisconsin developer at its March 24 regular evening meeting. The public is welcome to attend and ask questions.
The bid includes a 15-year option for the school district to lease back the 1991 portion of the Academy building. That part of the Academy is now used for the district’s growing Montessori program for elementary-age students.
The school district is trying to get rid of the historic school building because it is too costly to maintain and upgrade.
There will be more on this story in the March 20 print edition of the River Falls Journal.
