College entrance scores down but still higher than most
As usual, River Falls high school graduates from last spring posted very good ACT scores that exceeded most other neighboring school districts. Only Hudson in the area ranked higher.
The River Falls Class of 2009 earned a composite score of 23.1. Hudson had a 23.3. The state average was 22.3. New Richmond was 22.1, Prescott, 22.0, Spring Valley was 22.7 and Ellsworth was 22.5.
River Falls students dropped slightly in all core subjects from the year before. The biggest drops were in English and Reading.
Wisconsin students ranked third nationally on the ACT results. For the fifth straight year Minnesota was No. 1.
