RF native hired as assistant principal at Meyer Middle school for 2009-10

The school board Monday night approved the hiring of Mark Chapin to be the Meyer Middle School assistant principal for next school year. Chapin, a 1990 River Falls High School graduate, succeeds Pat McCardle. McCardle came out of retirement to assume the job this school year following the untimely death of Greg Danke last summer.

Chapin was one of 94 applicants for the middle school job.

He is the current assistant principal at Ellsworth High school and has a strong teaching background. His first day on the job is July 1.

Chapin, 37, has a wife and three sons, including two who attend Rocky Branch Elementary School.
