Following too closely

At 3:42 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, , police were sent to North Main Street near Quarry Road for a report of a two-vehicle accident. Nicole Marie Schmidt, 39, Ellsworth, rear-ended another vehicle after that vehicle operator braked, and she was not able to break fast enough to stop before hitting the other vehicle. Schmidt was cited $124 for following too closely

Inattentive driving

At 4:25 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, police were sent to Highway 29 and Cemetery Road for an accident. Vicki L. Bowen, 63, Prescott, reportedly told police she had been driving north on Highway 29, approaching the South Main Street and Cemetery Road intersection. Bowen said she was talking to a passenger which distracted her attention from the road. She said she didn't realize another vehicle was stopping in front of her until it was too late. She rear-ended the other vehicle. Bowen was cited $111.40 for inattentive driving.

Domestic battery

At 4:28 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, police were sent to the parking lot of St. Bridget Parish Church for a report of a fight that had already ended. Police spoke with three individuals who reportedly were coming from Subway to a shared residence.

Lyle I. Carrick, 18, River Falls, was allegedly confronted about paying rent in order to continue living at a shared residence with two others. Carrick became upset at the amount he was asked to pay and became aggressive. He allegedly punched another man in the back of the head four times.

The arresting officer requested backup as previous contacts with Carrick had involved Carrick being physically confrontational.. Carrick said the amount he was being asked to pay for rent ($200) was "unfair" because he makes less money than others who live in the same residence.

When informed he was under arrest, Carrick told police he would get revenge, and said "I'll make sure you all burn in hell." He allegedly told police he was going to "become supreme leader" and "execute all cops." While being taken to jail, Carrick allegedly began praying to "Lord Satan" and made strange noises. He was taken to Pierce County Jail.

OWI

At 2:19 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, police traveling north on Main Street near Division Street saw a vehicle cross the centerline while driving more than once, and pulled the vehicle over. The driver was identified as Oscar Adiel Jimenez Pena, 26, River Falls. Pena reportedly had glassy eyes, slurred speech, and smelled of alcoholic beverages.

Police stopped standard field sobriety tests before they were fully compete for Pena's safety, according to the police report. A preliminary breath test resulted in a .180 reading.

Pena was arrested and brought to RFPD. He was cited $861 for operating with a PAC over .15 and $861or operating while under the influence. He was released to the care of a sober person .

Felony arrest warrant

At 2:16 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, police were informed that Damon Nathaniel Mitchell, 42, and Michael Paul Gale, 32, were both near Junior's restaurant. Each had a warrant out for their arrest. Both were arrested and taken to Pierce County Jail.

Burglary

On Feb. 6, staff at In Balance Yoga and Fitness reported cash and two employee paychecks stolen. The cash was in a donation bowl for animal charities.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

At 11:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, police were called to the Value Stay Inn, 708 N. Main St., for an anonymous complaint about drug activity in a room. It was believed the residents of that room might be smoking meth. When police got to the room, they identified Aimee Anne Pace, 31, River Falls, with two men. Police could smell a scent of marijuana coming from inside the room.

A drug pipe and two clear gem baggies with possible drug residue were found in the room. Pace was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, taken to River Falls Police Department, cited $187 for possession of drug paraphernalia and released.

Operate a motor vehicle without owner's consent

A River Falls woman reported her vehicle missing. It was later recovered by the Minneapolis Police Department.

Attempted burglary

At 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, an American Legion representative reported that it appeared someone had tried to gain entry to the Legion over the weekend. Some "door pins" had been removed.

Theft

At 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, a River Falls resident reported that a small black cloth zippered gun case containing a magazine with four cartridges for a 380 caliber handgun had been taken from his residence in the 1400 block of South Wasson Lane.

Warrant arrest

At 7:08 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, police went to an address in the 1400 block of South Wasson Lane to arrest Amanda R. Hildebrandt, 34, River Falls under a warrant for failure to pay fines out of St. Croix County. She was arrested and taken t St.. Croix County Jail.
