Teen suspected of shooting boy, 7, with AirSoft gun

A River Falls teenager out on felony signature bond was arrested last week after allegedly shooting a 7-year-old with an AirSoft gun.

River Falls police forwarded prosecutors a case against Joseph Feisthauer, 18, 240 W. Johnson St., for possible THC possession, obstructing an officer, felony bail jumping and endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon charges.

According to a police report:

Police were called at 8:43 p.m. June 1 to 438 Griffey St. for a report of a 7-year-old child shot by an Airsoft rifle. The child's mother told police the boy was injured in his arm and hip after being shot twice while playing outside. She said the suspect was known as "Joey."

Police found Feisthauer outside a nearby home. He told police he shot the child unintentionally while he was sighting in the gun. The gun, a replica AR-15 rifle, was confiscated.

Police arrested Feisthauer and learned he had been out on a signature bond for a felony case. Jailers allegedly found a small amount of pot in Feisthauer's pocket while booking him.

Feisthauer was out on bond for felony amphetamine possession with intent to deliver stemming from a Feb. 15 incident. He pleaded not guilty to that charge, as well as marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia charges included in the case.
