Magma Flooring LLC, a privately held new company and a spinoff off Interfacial Solutions of River Falls, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Officials from the company, located in the River Falls Industrial Park at 283 Troy St., say they’re focused on becoming a leading provider of green, cost-effective and eco-friendly plastic sheeting materials.

CEO Greg Bennett says Magma plans to start with 15-20 employees, then add more when growth and expansion follow.

Besides producing new plastic sheeting for multiple markets and applications, Magma’s facility will be the main location for the company’s management, operations, sales, marketing and technical service activities.

After Wednesday’s ribbon cutting and remarks by local business and government leaders, tours of the new facility will follow.

Bennett said that since branching out from Interfacial Solutions in 2012, Magma Flooring has “developed an exciting line of cost-effective, socially responsible, and fully functional engineered plastic sheet materials that are finding broad interest in flooring, print media and general industry.”

The company’s promotion emphasizes environment and sustainability: “Unlike PVC, Magma’s products are chlorine-free, phthalate-free, have essentially no odor and can be readily recycled.”
