UPDATE: Snowmobilier injured in Sunday crash identified

ROBERTS -- The man injured in a snowmobile accident late Sunday afternoon was Adam R. Lindus, 33, of rural Roberts.

The St. Croix County Dispatch Center was advised at 5:14 p.m. that Lindus had been injured on a segment of trail east of 130th Street and north of East Kinnic Drive and north of I-94 in the town of Kinnickinnic.

River Falls ambulance and fire personnel responded along with a unit from the Roberts-Warren Fire Department.

The rider apparently encountered a rough portion of trail and overturned his sled, breaking his leg in the process, said WDNR Warden Paul Sickman.

"He was with no other snowmobiles, but luckily there were other snowmobiles on the trail and they were able to render assistance before first responders arrived," Sickman said.

Radio traffic indicated rescuers transported Lindus by sled to a nearby road where he was transferred to a River Falls ambulance and transported directly to Regions.

More information will be posted if it becomes available.
