Spring blooms at Garden Club plant sale

With sales up at the River Falls Garden Club Plant Sale on Saturday, May 12, many people are enjoying the sweet scent of their new plants. According to River Falls Garden Club president Susan Reese, "...being around plants lowers blood pressure and improves people's attitude; human productivity increases, crime decreases. Plants, trees and shrubs prevent soil erosion, attract and support wildlife in the ecosystem and improve air quality." Jillian Dexheimer photos

The River Falls Garden Club held its annual plant sale Saturday at the Armory, selling a mix of annuals, perennials, herbs and vegetables. There were also patio pots and hanging planters of various annuals. Many of the plants came from the UW River Falls Floriculture Production and Management Course.
