We are the champions

Two high school state champions in one weekend, two parades down Main Street River Falls Sunday! The River Falls-based Fusion hockey team won a state title in Madison, while the River Falls high school gymnists captured the state crown in Wisconsin Rapids.

Both teams were given the traditional fire-truck ride through downtown. The sun broke through and the mild weather made if comfortable for lightly dressed supporters and family members to cheer on and applaud these remarkable athletes.

Pictured are the gymnists who had their parade at 1 p.m. The fire truck carry them aloft stopped by Veterans Park where most of the crowd had gathered. The hockey team came through an hour earlier.
