City narrows administrator search to two
The City Council interviewed Thursday evening in closed session five candidates for the vacant city administrator job. Finance Director and Interim City Administrator Julie Bergstrom said after that, the council named two finalists: Scot Simpson, the city administrator in Lancaster, and Kenneth Witt, the city administrator in Sparta.
Simpson has a master's degree, five years of experience as an administrator and 10 years overall professional experience.
Witt has a master's degree about 13 years experience as a municipal manager and about 16 years overall professional experience.
Bergstrom said River Falls has not set the final interviews yet but expects to make the appointments and a decision within the next few weeks.
