Darlene J. Dunn, 64

Darlene J. Dunn, 64, of River Falls, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 13, 1943, in Rush River, daughter of the late Lucille (Young) Schommer.

Darlene was raised by her grandma Lucy and moved to River Falls to start school at St. Bridget Catholic School.

At age 15 she left school and married her first husband, Bob Seekamp. They were divorced two years later.

In 1963 she married Lyle Dunn at Ezekiel Lutheran Church. After Lyle's death in 1975 she spent several years with Russ Peterson. She worked as a cook at the Roberts Café and enjoyed baking, collecting cookbooks, spending time at her cabin and fishing.

Darlene is survived by her six children: Dawn French and her husband Troy of Roberts, Curtis Dunn and his wife Donna of Hammond, Randi Dunn and his wife Felicia of Hammond, Tammi Dunn and her husband Tom Peterson of Roberts, Jamie Dunn of River Falls and Tony Peterson and his wife Talaya of Roberts; 17 grandchildren: Adam, Ryan, Stacy, Shane, Kerry, Matt, Cooper, Tanner, Jessica, Abbie, Derrick, Cody, Destiny, Tyler, Nevaeh, Stephanie and Nicole; three great-grandchildren: Noah, Wyatt and Lillian; four siblings: John Schommer and his wife Peggy of Prescott, Terry Schommer and his wife Joan of Prescott, Mary Wolfe and her husband Grant of Prescott and Sandy Gutting and her husband Rob of Prescott; closest cousins: Diane and Rita; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Besides her mother and husband, Lyle, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Bud Schommer and her grandma Lucy Young.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Rush River Lutheran Church,with the Rev. Gerd Bents officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
