Prescott farmers market seeks new manager, more vendors
PRESCOTT--Genny Taevs, Prescott Farmers Market Manager in 2012, announces the market is seeking a new manager for the 2013 season.
Taevs is retiring as manager of the market for personal reasons. This is a volunteer position requiring about five hours' work per week.
Last summer the market, held Thursdays from 3-7 p.m. in front of Tractor Supply at Hwys. 10 and 29-35 in Prescott, consisted of five regular vendors.
"We would like to see that number grow," said Taevs.
She would like to hear from vendors who wish to join the market.
Borner Farm Project, organic vegetable vendor, will not participate in the farmers market this year. Diane Webster reports Borner Farm will be increasing the number of farm shares to the community this summer, and plans to expand the vegetable market at the farm at 1266 Walnut St., Prescott.
Unless a manager can be found, there will not be an organized Prescott Farmers Market this summer. If interested in the manager position and/or wishing to join the market as a vendor, call Taevs at 715-262-8323.
