Forged check brings bigamy charges
A Wausau man could be sentenced to nine years in prison if he is convicted on bigamy charges. Timothy Swinea, 45, is accused of never divorcing a woman he married 20 years ago in Missouri.
He has pleaded not guilty to felony charges of bigamy and bail jumping. Swinea also entered a not guilty plea for misdemeanor charges of making a false statement on a marriage license.
His wife called police last December saying he had forged a check from her day care business. At the time, her husband was on probation from a 2012 theft conviction, so he was arrested.
