Pierce county pastors organize laundry drive

This Sunday through Sunday, Aug. 11, the Ellsworth Area Pastors Association (EAAPA) is sponsoring a “Love Laundry Drive” to help people in need to clean their clothes.

Throughout the drive, organizers will collect powdered laundry detergent (regular and HE), softener sheets, as well as cash donations to be given to Our Neighbor’s Place in River Falls and distributed within the Ellsworth area.

The cost of going to the laundromat can be quite substantial, especially if someone is homeless, so give generously. Watch for collection points around the Bethlehem-Eidsvold Parish as well as at church food booths at the Pierce County Fair, then join in on Wednesday, Aug. 14, for a gathering in the gymnasium at Crossroad Community Church to put together packets of detergent and dryer sheets to be given to families in need.

Organizers are also hoping to borrow canning funnels to help with filling the ziplock bags the detergent will go into.
