The Roberts Cross Lutheran Church Youth Group believes that “small deeds done with great love" matter. They look for local organizations that make a difference in people's lives and try to help them help others.

The youth group wanted to provide supplies that were needed by Our Neighbors’ Place (ONP), so they collected packages of new underwear and money to purchase additional sizes of underwear.

ONP offers emergency shelter with two two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom apartments. In addition to the shelter is the ONP Day Center where guests stop in for a variety of reasons and is where families apply for shelter housing, based on availability and qualifications. Some of the services offered are access to computers, a telephone, clothing, a place to warm up, relax in the lounge, grab a bite to eat, take a nap or to just chat with one of the volunteers.

ONP assists people with their basic needs, safety, access to information and knowledgeable people to help in decreasing personal stress when dealing with homelessness, offering support services to families and individuals of Pierce and St. Croix Counties, to help people in need move toward independence and self-sufficiency.

Homelessness is a growing problem in our area which affects many individuals and families and will impacts the community as a whole.
