Wanted: Couple to join parade and say ‘I do’

Vicki Anderson, floral manager at Family Fresh Market, poses with the store’s mascot at Town ‘N Country Day. Anderson has something big planned for River Falls Days.

When Vicki Anderson, floral manager at Family Fresh Market, heard River Falls Days was having its 40th anniversary, she wanted to do something unique to celebrate the milestone.

She found inspiration from the River Falls Days parade – one that’s featured many different floats the past four decades but never one like what Anderson had in mind.

She says Family Fresh is seeking a couple married in 1974 to renew wedding vows on the Family Fresh float during the Friday night parade.

“It’s great to see the community come together in one place and have such a memorable event going on,” said Anderson. “And the fact that River Falls Days has been here for 40 years says a lot about the community and the volunteers that take on these events.”

The float will be decorated like a wedding scene, complete with wedding cake, music, banners and a lattice arch.

Family Fresh employees will pass out candy wrapped like wedding favors and sport T-shirts that look like tuxedos and bridesmaid dresses.

The chosen couple will renew their vows in a short ceremony in front of judges. They can request specific wedding music and choose the person who will renew their vows.

Anderson said the store will try to fit more than one couple on the float if many ask to publicly renew their wedding vows.

This is Family Fresh’s third year taking part in the River Falls Days Parade.

Couples interested in renewing their vows on the parade float can call Family Fresh at 715-425-7277 and ask for Vicki Anderson.
