The Tri-Angels fundraising group has raised over half of the $550,000 it needs to build the universally accessible playground at Hoffman Park.

The playgroud will be a memorial for Amara, Sophie, and Cecilia Schaffhausen, who were killed two years ago in River Falls.  It is expected to be built by spring of 2015.

Group members are in the final stages of securing the playground's Hoffman Park location. It is expected to be located north of the parking lot, next to the volleyball courts.

A variety of fundraising events are planned. Two of the largest will take place July 19.

The Tri-Angels 5K Fun Run and 10K race will start at 8:30 a.m at Hoffman Park. Those interested can visit the "Tri-Angels 5k Fun Run" Facebook page or register at with a keyword of "tri-angels."

Registration for River Falls Cruisin for a Cause will start at 9:30 a.m. at West Wind Supper Club. More information is on the event's Facebook page: "River Falls Cruisin For a Cause."

Tri-Angels will also be at Touch-A-Truck for Kids this Saturday, June 14, collecting donations. The event will go from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. in the River Falls High School parking lot.
