March goes up and down River Falls Main Street

This year’s Take Back the Night was Thursday, April 24, and included public sharing of personal experiences and support, a candlelight vigil and a march by 113 people up and down Main Street from St. Bridget Catholic Church. Take Back the Night is held in many cities across the U.S. to draw attention to the problems of sexual violence. Thursday night River Falls marchers chanted “2, 4, 6, 8, stop the violence, stop the rape” and also more subtle messages like “No does not mean yes.” Some passing Main Street drivers honked in approval, which drew cheers each time from the marchers.
