Competitive marshmallow madness strikes library … again

Submitted photo.

Anyone who thinks those pastel marshmallow chicks and bunnies are just a  beautiful body without a brain should stop by the River Falls Public Library April 3-17 to see the annual Peeps Diorama Contest entries, says Katie Chaffee, events and gallery coordinator.

These Easter confections have the most amazing adventures, dabbling in political commentary, appearing on TV shows and in movies, and competing in sporting events, to name just a few.

The contest consistently attracts crafty people who like to play with food and make bad puns at the expense of these helpless critters.

So here’s an opportunity to show off your creativity, but don’t procrastinate. Entries are due by 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2.

Create a diorama no bigger than 18”X18” that includes at least one marshmallow Peep. Let your imagination run wild, but don’t get too carried away. It’s all in fun, but prospective entrants are reminded that the library is a family-friendly place.

Earn a brand new trophy toothbrush for your entry, courtesy of our local dentists.

Judging will be held April 3. People’s Choice voting April 3-April 9; winners announced April 10. Entries will be on display through April 17.
