Walk to remember loved ones
The St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program (SCVRJP) of River Falls is sponsoring the 4th Annual Walk for Awareness at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug.3 at the White Pathway.
The event provides community members attending an opportunity to support loved ones, struggling with loss. It is designed to raise awareness regarding homicide, suicide, traffic fatalities and other sudden preventable loss.
The walk begins with a meal and finishes with a reading of names and a balloon release. There will also be a memory board, that includes the person's photo and a phrase, which will be placed along the pathway.
Those attending will be provided a luminary, and these lights will also be placed along the path.
The opportunity to purchase raffle tickets will also be available.
If you would like to have a memory board made, please contact Executive Director Kris Miner at the Restorative Justice Center, before July 26 at 715-425-1100.
Tickets to the event are $25 and include a meal by Bo's n Mine, a t-shirt, the remembrance walk and ceremony.
Tickets can be purchased at the Restorative Justice Center, 215 N 2nd Street, Suite 108, River Falls or online at www.scvrjp.org.
