BAY CITY—This year, the magic of the Christmas season will come to life along the shores of Lake Pepin during Coastal Christmas.

Taking place this Saturday, businesses in the four West-Coast-of-Wisconsin Villages of Bay City, Maiden Rock, Stockholm and Pepin will offer a variety of special events planned to delight and entertain holiday visitors.

Each village along this scenic 20-mile span of Hwy. 35 will be decked out in their holiday best. Twinkling lights and stunning decorations will adorn businesses and private homes along the Great River Road, enhanced by the natural beauty of Lake Pepin.

Over 30 businesses and organizations will take part in the event. Highlights include appearances by Santa, horse-drawn sleigh rides, live shows and entertainment, unique gift ideas and shopping, wine and pie tastings, an abundance of free foodie samplings, small town hospitality and more.

Visit the Village of Bay City for gourmet hot chocolate, a lighting ceremony of a historic caboose, bonfires and Christmas carolers. Maiden Rock will instill timeless memories for kids of all ages; horse-drawn sleigh rides, gift-giving elves, and photos with the big guy himself.

Elsewhere, enjoy the quaint town of Stockholm, where holiday shoppers are sure to find the perfect gift among the shops, and enjoy the art and entertainment options making the town a popular destination. And Pepin visitors will experience a good ol’ fashioned Hometown Holiday throughout the entire weekend, with retail specials, live entertainment at many local venues and Seuss-themed activities planned around the high school’s performance of “Suessical.”

All events are guaranteed to create cherished holiday memories for visitors. A complete schedule of Coastal Christmas events and happenings is available for download at, and news and updates about the event can be found on Facebook at
