Marching Wildcats take first at state competition

The River Falls Marching Wildcats won their seventh consecutive state title Saturday, returning Sunday in school buses and several other vehicles escorted by the River Falls police and fire departments. After their return, members of the band posed for a photo in the RFHS parking lot. 1 / 2

The River Falls High School Marching Wildcats took first place in their division Saturday at the State Marching Band Championships held at UW-Whitewater. This is the band's seventh consecutive first place title.

The Marching Wildcats, directed by Bryan Jaeckel and Joe Coughlin, also won all the caption awards for best percussion, visual appearance, music and color guard.

The band members were welcomed back to River Falls Sunday by chilly but proud parents and relatives with flags and signs.
