The City of River Falls is getting ready for the Holiday season. Electric utility workers started decking out Main Street in Holiday lights this Tuesday, Nov. 12. Utility Director Kevin Westhuis said each tree in the median will be lit with 15 strands of lights.

"We're just really looking to make the downtown a festive plce for the holidays," Westhuis said.

The new white energy-efficent LED lights will take utility workers about a week to put up. Westhuis said colored lights are being placed in Veterans Park by public works employees.

Westhuis said the lights will be turned on between 6:15 and 6:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29--just in time for the Chamber of Commerce's River Dazzle Parade.
