Talent show will end with fireworks

Persons who dance, sing or play an instrument should be at the Pierce County Fairgrounds, Wednesday, Aug. 12.

The Pierce County Fair Talent Show will start off the evening and will close with fireworks following at dusk. Fair organizers are seeking amateur entertainers. All types of talent are encouraged including vocal, instrumental, dramatic readings, skits and dance.

There will be two divisions in each competition. The junior division is for those entering ninth grade and under and the senior division includes contestants entering the 10th grade through adult.

Preliminary contests will be held in the Family Entertainment Tent at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12. The town schedule list and hours include:

4:30 p.m. -- River Falls

5:30 p.m. -- Spring Valley/Elmwood/Plum City

6:30 p.m. -- Prescott

7:30 p.m. -- Ellsworth/Maiden Rock/Bay City/Hager City

First and second places will be awarded in each division from each community show with every participant receiving a participation ribbon. First place will advance to the finals held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.

In the finals, cash prizes of $150 and $75 will be awarded to the first and second place winners in each division.
