Freedom Park plant sale May 19

Hundreds of plants will be available at Saturday's plant sale at the pavilion at Freedom Park in Prescott from 9:30 a.m.-noon.

Annuals, perennials, native wildflowers, hanging baskets, vegetables and garden ornaments will be available for purchase. Friends of Freedom Park is partnering with the UW-River Falls Horticulture Department and Kinnickinnic Natives for many of the plants.

Hardy perennials from local gardens, including those of Master Gardeners, will also be for sale. Garden ornaments from Smith Brothers Landing will be featured at the sale as well.

With plants to donate, phone 715-262-0104.

Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions. Money raised from the sale will be used to beautify the center's gardens, purchase needed equipment, including drip irrigation, plant labels and more.

The sale will also be held on Monday, May 28, beginning at 10 a.m. near the pavilion and continue during the Memorial Day activities held at the park.
