The latest standardized tests taken earlier this school year may have local students, parents, teachers and school administrators feeling pleased. Overall, the River Falls School District showed improvement from last year in the five core areas: language arts, reading, math, science and social studies. Compared to nine other area school districts, River Falls finished No. 1 in three of the five core subjects tested. In the other two subjects, River Falls finished second and third.
Growing numbers of Wisconsin high school students are taking Advanced Placement exams, and doing well.
The College Board said 24 percent of last year’s public school graduates in the Badger State took the rigorous AP exams.
