The River Falls 14U fastpitch softball team took second place at the Queen Bee Classic in Ramsey, Minn. June 9-10. The River Falls boys’ golf team finished second at the Marshfield sectional to qualify for next week’s WIAA State Tournament, and the Wildcat softball and baseball team each won one-run games in their respective playoff openers in high school action Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Carlie Christensen steals third base with a head-first slide in the third inning of the Wildcat softball team’s 5-3 loss to St. Croix Central in the season opener for both teams two weeks ago, April 5, at the high school field.
Senior pitcher Rose Tusa broke UW-River Falls’ career strikeout record and accounted for all three UWRF victories as the Falcon softball team won three of four games at the Augustana Tournament over the weekend in Moline, Ill.

Hudson resident Jody Gabriel announced her resignation as interim head coach of the UW-River Falls softball program last Wednesday, June 29, to take over as head softball coach at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.
