Arthritis can make physical activity more difficult. In spite of that difficulty, exercise is an important part of staying healthy for men and women with arthritis. Even moderate physical activity can strengthen bones and muscles and increase joint flexibility, making it easier for arthritis sufferers to perform daily tasks.
Exercise is an essential component of any plan to get healthier. Men and women who want to lose weight or change their lifestyles to reduce their risk of falling into poor health know that diet and exercise go hand in hand.
As we grow older, all of us will experience some life changes such as retirement, increased medical issues, and the death of friends and loved ones. Most adapt normally and without symptoms of depression. Unfortunately, stressors that come with aging can increase the risk of depression for some older adults.
Last month the Falcon Falls 4-H Club created these fleece blankets with tenants at WelLHaven Senior Apartments, 119 Union St. The blankets were donated to the River Falls Journal’s Sharing Families Program. The club made a total of 26 blankets.
