Woman robbed, suspect at large

A UW-River Falls female student was robbed of her purse Friday night while she went to her parked car in the 1000 block of East Cascade Avenue. Her assailant held her from behind, threatening her with some kind of sharp object. This is the third armed robbery in just over a month in River Falls.

Clues sought for Schwan’s robber

The man who held up a Schwan’s female truck driver on Friday night, Nov. 20, still hasn’t been caught. River Falls police are hoping to have a composite sketch of the suspect available in a few days. As soon as it is, look for that picture on this website and in the Journal’s print edition.

Another robbery in River Falls

A female truck driver for Schwan’s in River Falls was robbed Friday night after she returned from making a round of deliveries. The robbery took place in the Schwan’s parking lot in the city’s industrial park at 1050 Benson Street. The assailant hasn’t been caught.

RF Police: Robber's gun found

The semi-automatic pistol that police think was used in the Nov. 2 night robbery at Dick’s Hometown Liquor has been recovered. Investigator John Wilson said the gun was found hidden in the weeds outside the house of Blake Halverson, N7923 870th St. Halverson has been charged with a felony armed robbery by the Pierce County district attorney.

Masked gunman hits Dick’s Plus

River Falls police are seeking a robber who got away with cash around 10 p.m. Monday at Dick’s Plus Hometown Liquor, 1141 S. Main St. The two clerks on duty were unhurt. No customers were in the store. The white male suspect, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and handkerchief over his face, held a handgun and demanded money. His actions were captured on surveillance video.
