Bonfire party not a good idea
Except for a few more drunk drivers, it was a fairly subdued week in River Falls policeland. Some college students did manage to add a little spice. Just before 3 a.m. last Thursday at a rental house at 913 S. Officer struck in face, college student charged with felony
Investigating a loud party complaint at 114 S. Fourth St. just before 2 a.m. Sunday turned into something bigger and more violent for two River Falls patrol officers. One of the tenants, a 19-year-old UW-River Falls student, refused to cooperate, allegedly banged a back door shut against one officer and a short time later hit the same officer in the face with a closed fist.By Phil Pfuehler , March 30, 2010
Update: Cat feces used to start trailer blazes; teen boy accused
River Falls police say evidence points to a 16-year-old local boy as the one who set three recent minor blazes at Cudd's trailer court, 1450 S. Wasson Lane. The boy, who lives in a nearby apartment complex on Cemetery Road, allegedly set fire to cat feces inside a paper bag and left it on the porch of one trailer home.March 04, 2010
Name calling, kiss and then a smack in the face
A 24-year-old New Richmond man was arrested for disorderly conduct on North Main Street at 2 a.m. Saturday for punching another man in the face as the two were being separated outside a bar. Inside the bar, the arrested man allegedly called the other man a “fag” and then kissed him on the side of the cheek. This led to pushing and shoving. Police deal with domestics, school misconduct
A 17-year-old boy was arrested for battery last week at a home on Eighth Street for allegedly swearing at his mother, then pushing her so that she fell on her infant son who sat on a bouncy chair on the floor. Wife claims being attacked twice within hours
The wife of a 46-year-old local man said she was beaten twice in the same night by her husband – once when he came home jealous because he couldn’t reach her by phone, and then a second time after being released from jail after the first attack. More costly noises for downtown bar
The loud noise citations are piling up for Coach’s Bar, 127 S. Main St. Again over the weekend, responding to a couple of complaints by upstairs tenants, a patrol officer gave the bar a fine. A young couple whom a River Falls patrol officer described as physically affectionate until they got “carried away” and bumped hard against a door window frame of Midwest Appraisal Service, 113 S. Man arrested for sexual assault of a child
Following an investigation, River Falls police arrested and jailed a 37-year-old local man Friday for sexually assaulting a child at the man’s home this past summer. A county social worker assisted the alleged female victim while she was questioned. Various DNA samples were taken. Handcuffed, vodka-drinking student crashes through window
An 18-year-old UW-River Falls student from Baldwin was arrested a second time on campus late Saturday night and hospitalized after running through a plate-glass window at May Hall. It’s not every day that a River Falls patrol officer is flagged down by a suspect wanting to turn himself in. But that’s just what happened downtown after midnight Saturday.
