Shelly Moore is our chance to right wrongs by Harsdorf who betrayed us by voting in Walker’s directives including cuts to the prescription drug program and Medicaid for vulnerable seniors, to our educational system budget, cuts to recycling, selling off our power plants with no legislative input and no bidding.
Actions taken by the state Joint Finance Committee last week starkly demonstrate who is ignored and hurt, and who matters and is favored by the sweeping changes being advanced as part of Gov. Walker’s Republican-backed budget proposals.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has included in his new budget proposal the optional selling off of the state-owned steam and electric generating facilities to private enterprise without even a bid process.
I moved to River Falls in 2002, lost my employment in 2004, and later drew disability. Though my house was paid for, I became in arrears on my property taxes owing to the low stipend awarded through SSDI.
The July 22 River Falls Journal front page showed an aerial view of Farm Technology Days. Tens of thousands of people attended the event that was just two miles south of River Falls on Highway 29. How is it possible that so few of these people found their way into the River Falls businesses?
