Dozens of daffodil bulbs arrived in River Falls last week from the American Cancer Society that will bring colorful blooms in spring to honor the community’s cancer victims, survivors and caregivers. Local volunteers planted the bulbs in Veterans Park. Winter has been rude to overstay its welcome, but the day will come when we can once again look out the window or down the streets to see the many plantings on display as we take in the warmer days of summer.
Heidi and Clark Leeson have spent many hours in their back yard the last several years, transforming it from a veritable jungle of sumac into a lovely labyrinth garden, a place for quiet meditation.
Now the grandchildren, Piper, 5 and Emmy, 6, are involved, too. Heidi reports that the children love to help.
