Fighting Fish advance to state finals

Fighting Fish advance to state finals The River Falls Fighting Fish advanced to the Wisconsin Baseball Association state finals for the second year in a row with a pair of wins in the state semifinal round over the weekend in Osceola. The Fish defeated the Oulu Blue Jays, 6-2, Saturday before routing the Grantsburg Honkers, 12-1, Sunday at Osceola’s Oakey Park.

Fish feed on foes

The River Falls Fighting Fish amateur baseball team boosted its playoff hopes by defeating Plum City, 5-3, Sunday, then got some help from St. Croix Valley Baseball League rival Hudson later in the day as the River Rats took care of the Bay City Bombers, 5-2.
