A 16-member group formed in recent months aims to make a unified, proactive approach to family violence in the St. Croix Valley. Many of the members — from law enforcement, county departments and various non-profit entities — deal with domestic violence issues in their professions.
River Falls royalty graced the last City Council meeting as two ambassadors and others who support the program stated their cases and asked city officials to consider ongoing support of $1,500 per year.
St. Croix County Sheriff Dennis Hillstead gave but one statement about the structure fire at 436 Red Brick Road in the town of Troy that last week destroyed a detached garage on the property and damaged siding on the nearby home: “The fire is suspicious in origin and remains under investigation.”
