Wildcat senior Ethan Genco looks for room to run at the start of the boys’ 5,000 meter race at the Big Rivers Conference Championship Meet Saturday at the UW-RF intramural fields. Genco finished fourth overall to lead the Wildcat boys to a second place team finish.
Wildcat sophomore Paige Skorseth wades through the deepest part of the course along the South Fork of the Kinnickinnic River on her way to a winning the River Falls Extreme Cross Country Meet Thursday for the second straight year. The Wildcat girls took the team title as well while River Falls’ boys finished second.
It may be the start of the fall sports season, but members of the Wildcat cross country teams have been working in the heat and humidity all summer with the goal of trying to improve on their historic 2009 campaign.
