Sears Hometown Store of River Falls, 1660 Commerce Court, was named a 2012 Sears Hometown Store Premier Dealer. The award recognizes local Sears stores that the company says offer the best customer service, perform to the highest standards and show robust community involvement. The River Falls Sears was one of 190 stores nationwide to earn the recognition.

Licensed instructor Caryl Wiley of River Falls is offering Zumba Gold classes at Crossings Inn & Suites, 1525 Commerce Court, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The walk-in classes last 45 minutes and cost $5. Evening classes start Jan. 3, day classes on Jan. 10.
Chuck Brictson of River Falls was awarded a pin of achievement in the Sons of Norway Cultural Skills Awards Program. The pin was awarded to Brictson for completing Level 1 of Traditional Norwegian Cooking.
The River Falls Medical Clinic recently hire Dr. Amaris Moore to work at the River Falls and Spring Valley medical clinics. As a native of Spring Valley, Dr. Moore will practice medicine in the region where she grew up beginning Thursday, Sept. 1.
