Golfers take 7th at state 
The Wildcat girls’ golf team overcame some first-day jitters to cut 15 strokes off its score in the second round and move up two spots in the standings to finish seventh at the WIAA Girls State Golf Tournament in Madison last Monday and Tuesday.

Wildcat victory over Mustangs
Wildcat sophomore Ryan Bjornstal (16) beats a Menomonie defender in the second half of the Cats’ 1-0 victory over the Mustangs last Tuesday at the high school. The Cats earned the No. 5 seed in the 16-team WIAA regional which began last week.

The Wildcat football team rallied behind a pair of seniors in its final game of the season.
Tanner Kusilek scored three touchdowns and Ryan Kusilek passed for two touchdowns, ran for another and kicked a 39-yard field goal as the Wildcats took care of Superior, 44-22, Friday night at Ramer Field.

Pechacek scores hole-in-one at state golf tourney
River Falls High School senior Mari Pechacek made the shot of the WIAA Girls State Golf Championships Tuesday when she made a hole-in-one on the par-3, 135-yard third hole at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison.
Pechacek’s ace helped the Wildcats shave 15 strokes from their first day score and move up two spots to finish in seventh place in the 12-team Division 1 competition.

Band marches on to state competition
The 115-member River Falls High School Marching Wildcats had another successful weekend of competition Oct. 8 and 9, this time in Chippewa Falls on Saturday, when it took first place and in Menomonie on Sunday, when it took first place and both Caption Awards for Best Percussion and Best Color Guard.

Wildcat golfers going to state
Halle Hauer earned medalist honors and three Wildcats finished in the top five to lead the River Falls girls’ golf team to a 23-stroke victory at the WIAA Division 1 La Crosse Sectional Wednesday at Forest Hills Golf Course.
The sectional title earned the Cats a berth in the WIAA State Tournament for the first time since 2001.
