Your Schools: Plans in place to ensure student safety
Since the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Conn. just a month ago, I have been asked repeatedly about the safety measures in place in River Falls to keep our children and staff safe.

Heartland donates to food pantry
Heartland Montessori Elementary students collected 262 pounds, which is 32 pounds more than last year, for the River Falls Community Food Pantry. Donations came from Heartland Montessori families. Shriners thank local students
The special needs class at River Falls High School were recognized for their work helping to sort the hundreds of pop tops used in making bracelets to sell for the kids at Shriners Hospital for Children. They are pictured with the students from UW-Stout and Zor representatives.

Compassion rewarded with competition
To celebrate raising $3,142.05 during the ‘Penny War’ competition, where students brought in pennies to give to the River Falls Community Food Pantry and the donation of 1,575 pounds of food and household items, Meyer Middle School students played a tough game of Battle Ball against the teachers.
