For the 8th time - Freeman named Coach of the Year
Eight members of the UW-River Falls men’s hockey team have been named to 2012 All-WIAC teams, and Steve Freeman was named the league’s Coach of the Year.

Falcons to host O’Brien Cup finals March 2-3

UPDATE: Falcons to host NCAA Tourney openers
Tickets for the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's National Basketball Championship games at Karges Center this weekend will go on sale at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at the UW-River Falls Athletic Office in Hagestad Hall.
The Falcons (20-7) won the WIAC Tournament Championship Sunday and earned an automatic berth in the 64-team field. They will face Edgewood College (22-6) in a first round game Friday, March 2 at 8 p.m.

Falcons win first ever WIAC tourney title
The third time proved to be the charm for the UW-River Falls men’s basketball team.
After being swept by UW-Whitewater in the regular season, the Falcons battled back from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat the Warhawks, 64-58, in the WIAC Tournament championship game Sunday afternoon in Whitewater.

Manor named WIAC Player of the Week after snapping UWSP 29-game run
The UW-River Falls men’s basketball team bounced back from a last-second loss at UW-Superior last Wednesday night to defeat No. 11 UW-Stevens Point, 82-75, in overtime Saturday in Stevens Point. The win gave the Falcons a regular season sweep of the Pointers and snapped UWSP’s 29-game home winning streak.

UWRF basketball sweeps Pointers
Hours after the 14th-ranked UW-River Falls women’s basketball team defeated 8th-ranked UW-Stevens Point, 67-63, Wednesday night at Karges Center, the unranked Falcon men followed suit by knocking off the 13th-ranked Pointer men, 73-70 to move into sole possession of first place in the WIAC.
It’s the first time in 21 years the Falcon men and women have beaten Stevens Point in the same season, never mind the same night.
