‘Academy Winds’ visit UW-RF, perform concert

Relay fundraiser nears goal
Over 900 people attended the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Relay for Life at River Falls High School Friday night. Ninety-three local cancer survivors walked in the survivor’s lap to kick off the evening and supporters purchased about 275 luminarias to honor and remember loved ones who battled the disease.

UPDATE: Girls' hockey, gymnastics bring home state titles
It' quite an accomplishment for a school to win one state championship in a year. River Falls won two in one day Saturday.
The St. Croix Valley Fusion won their second straight state girls' hockey title in Madison Saturday afternoon, while the River Falls High School gymnastics team won its second championship in four years at the state meet in Wisconsin Rapids a few hours later.
Both teams will be welcomed back to River Falls with a parade on Main Street Sunday at noon.
