Booters continue Big Rivers domination

Booters continue to roll

The Wildcat girls’ soccer team continued to roll right along in its last two games, outscoring its opponents 12-0 to improve to 6-0-1 with wins over New Richmond and Menomonie.

Booters dominate in BRC wins

Winter League champs

The River Falls “Turf Devils” U16 boys’ team played in the Woodbury (Minn.)f Indoor Competitive Soccer league this winter. The boys had a 6-1 league record before defeating Eagan 2-1 to win the championship match Sunday, Feb. 27. Team members include, in front, Grant Morrison. U14 soccer champs

The Hudson Soccer Association U14 C2 boys’ team recently completed its season with a record of 7-1 and a first place finish in the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association Fall State Tournament. The team, consisting of players from Hudson and River Falls, outscored its opponents 23-8 during the season. Elite star

Super Nova champs

Super Nova, a girls’ soccer team made up of River Falls and Stillwater, Minn., players, played in the Coerver Cup 5-on-5 Tournament in Blaine, Minn., last month. The team won four straight games to make it to the finals and defeated Apple Valley, (Minn.) 2-1. Locals on Storm

The St. Croix Storm girls’ soccer team went undefeated to win the MYSA U13 C1 East Division fall league. The team had four girls from River Falls: Emma Benusa, Andrea Eliason, Taylor Lindaman and Hannah Schneckenberger. The team went the entire season without having a goal scored against it. The remainder of the teammates are from Stillwater, Woodbury, Oakdale, Mahtomedi, Lake Elmo and Cottage Grove, Minn., and Hudson. The team will travel this coming weekend to Rockford, Ill., to compete in the Super Clubs Tournament.

OATHS Award winners

The River Falls U14 boys’ soccer team earned the OATHS Award (Outstanding Ambassadors of Teams Honoring Sportsmanship) this season. Award winners are recognized by referees throughout the state as a model of championship behavior by displaying their respect, care and competence.

Booters eyeing No. 2 seed

The Wildcat boys’ soccer team has won two of its last three games to move into second place in the Big Rivers Conference standings.

WIAA Regional soccer pairings announced

River Falls drew the No. 3 seed and will host No. 14 Superior, while Hudson is seeded 11th and will travel to No. 6 Rhinelander when the WIAA Division 1 boys’ soccer regional playoffs get underway Tuesday, Oct. 12. River Falls will host Superior at 4 p.m. at Wildcat Field while Hudson and Rhinelander also kick off at 4 p.m. in Rhinelander.
