Sen. Amy Klobuchar, from Minnesota, probably has much higher name recognition in western Wisconsin than Tammy Baldwin. So Baldwin, a Democratic congresswoman from the Madison area Wisconsin who is running for the U.S. Senate against Republican Tommy Thompson, brought Klobuchar along to help her campaign Friday, Oct. 12, in Hudson, River Falls and Spring Valley.

Wisconsin voters have a new tool to help them get ready for the November 6 election -- a website called My Vote Wisconsin. In less than two minutes, a voter can go to the new website, My Vote, find their polling place location, check the status of their absentee ballot and see a sample ballot.

River Falls: Be advised about election form mailings
The River Falls deputy city clerk is warning residents who receive multiple mailings from political groups for voter registration applications and applications for absentee ballots: “Even though the mailings may instruct you to send the forms to the city clerk, the city clerk’s office does not send out mass mailings” for either of these.

The polls are open all day today, Tuesday, Nov. 8, until 8 p.m. Only one issue is on the ballot for River Falls school district voters – a referendum tax levy totaling more than $38 million. The referendum will require voters to vote yes or no on three questions.

The long-awaited Wisconsin Senate recall election is here. Local voting polls in River Falls were already experiencing heavy turnouts today, Tuesday morning, Aug. 9. The recall pits Republican incumbent Sheila Harsdorf against Democrat challenger Shelly Moore.
