4th at Anoka
The River Falls U12 fastpitch softball team finished fourth in the Silver Division at the Anoka Ramsey (Minn.) Dirt Devil Classic Tournament over the weekend. Falcons claim WIAC softball title
Less than one week after winning the conference regular season crown, the UW-River Falls softball team went 4-0 on its home field over the weekend to capture the WIAC Tournament championship and earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament, which begins this week with regional play in Eau Claire.

Softball earns split at Eau Claire Memorial
River Falls’ Abby James beats the tag of the Menomonie catcher to tie the score 3-3 in the fifth inning of a doubleheader against the Indians Thursday at the high school field. Menomonie went on to score four runs in the top of the sixth to win the game, 7-3. They also took the nightcap in extra innings by a score of 10-9.

Champs at New Richmond
The River Falls 14U softball team won the championship at the New Richmond Border Battle Tournament June 19-20 by defeating Hudson twice in the championship round. Four-year All-BRC
Wildcat senior pitcher Lauren Cernohous capped her high school career by being named to the All-Big Rivers Conference Softball Team for the fourth straight season. Cernohous was named to the All-BRC Second Team for the second straight year this season after earning Honorable Mention as a freshman in 2007 and First Team honors as a sophomore in 2008.
