About $380,000 worth of reductions are being proposed for the 2009-10 school year to cover a projected school district deficit. Each local school will be affected. For example, at Meyer Middle School, all foreign language instruction would be dropped except Spanish. Update: Abandoned, injured dog set to have surgery today
A roaming dog that was struck by a car Monday while crossing the Hwy. 35/65 bypass is scheduled to have surgery today (Friday) at the University of Minnesota small animal hospital. Amazingly, more than $5,000 has been raised by private donors to foot the bill. One man gave $1,000. The dog’s owner has yet to been found.By Phil Pfuehler , January 23, 2009
