Wildcat Samantha Johnston doesn’t let an untied shoe lace keep her from catching Hudson’s Emily Iverson as they head down the final stretch in the second heat of the girls’ 400 meter dash Friday in Hudson. Johnston won the heat and finished seventh overall with a time of 1:07.17.

Wildcats excel at True Team Invite
The Wildcat girls’ track and field team finished second while the boys took third at the 8-team Hudson True Team Invitational Friday in Hudson.

UW-River Falls senior Samantha Nyre leads the pack midway through the 100 meter hurdles final at the Falcon Invitational Saturday at David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field. Nyre won the event with a time of 15.44 seconds and followed that up with a first place time of 1:05.27 seconds in the 400 meter hurdles.

Yanique Black, Kali Kramolis and Colin Rogers all won individual championships to lead the Wildcat charge at Friday’s sectional meet in Wausau.

Twenty Wildcat track and field athletes qualified for Friday’s sectional meet in 16 different events at Tuesday’s regional competition in River Falls.
River Falls’ girls finished third in the regional team standings and the boys took fourth, while the two teams combined for five individual championships.
