Is the proposed driveway safe? Clifton withholding judgment

Harv Walton who lives in the Hidden Valley subdivision, town of Clifton, wants to build a driveway next spring on a 5.9 acre parcel in Lot 22. The Town Board rejected his proposal a few years back. On Tuesday night, Nov. 1, at the town’s regular meeting, Walton returned for another go.

Golf fundraiser for Food Shelf on Oct. 15 There will be a Par 3 9-hole golf fundraiser at Clifton Highlands in Prescott (2 club only) on Saturday, Oct. 15, beginning at 3 p.m. $40 includes prizes, golf and dinner at Lazy River Bar and Grill in River Falls. Letter: Look homeward when you shop

I was raised in a small town in Iowa. When I was little, there was a furniture store, a dress shop, a pharmacy, a flower shop, a couple of gift shops, a doctor’s office and two grocery stores downtown.

Driver’s young passenger seriously hurt in rural River Falls crash

A 48-year-old Hammond man’s son was badly injured after the boy was thrown from a 2007 Ford Ranger pickup truck. The Hammond driver was going around a curve when he lost control. The truck went into a ditch and flipped several times. The rollover occurred at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, on Hwy. 29 south of 690th Avenue in the town of Clifton.

Clifton Hollow champ

Clifton Hollow champ Blake Heiman of River Falls won the Clifton Hollow Golf Club Championship Saturday. His tournament win was highlighted by a 1-under-par round of 71. Heiman is an incoming sophomore at River Falls High School and was a member of last year’s Wildcat Big Rivers Conference Tournament champion and sectional qualifying golf team.
