Officials from the Baldwin office of the WDNR and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service hope to burn at least 19 parcels totaling 907 acres in Polk, St. Croix and Pierce counties this spring in coming weeks to improve wildlife habitat and spur growth of new vegetation.
BALDWIN – Wildlife biologists with the state Department of Natural Resources invite anyone interested in the status of the deer herd in St. Croix and Pierce counties to attend an open house public meeting from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at the Peace Lutheran Church in Baldwin.
The boat landing for Bass Lake in St. Croix County has been temporarily closed to vehicles because of deteriorating ice, the state Department of Natural Resources reported today, Friday, Feb. 18.
The landing is located at the north end of the lake off Townline Road in the Town of Somerset.
Public hearings begin Friday, Dec. 11 on a plan to improve Wisconsin’s ground-water standards. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants to create limits for 15 new contaminants.
